ARCHITECTURE- it is often associated with engineering and they are often viewed the same by other people who were not acquainted with the field. Architecture has a lot of definitions. But I can simply define architecture as the art of designing space, and translating ones ideas by putting it into drawing.

When other people heard about my course they often ask: "oh so are you good at drawing?". Architecture is not all about drawing but is also deals with planning and designing space. Our main goal is to transform spaces into usable areas such as houses, buildings or other structures. And if I'm not wrong, not all famous architects are good at drawing. But it will be an advantage if one can draw so that he can easily translate his ideas into drawings.

Studying architecture has never been easy for me. I really don't know if what is in store for me in the future. All I know is that I love my course.

SLEEPLESS NIGHTS

Most of us already have big eye bags because there are series of nights that we stay up too late just to finish our plates. Our instructors often scold us why we always like to work on the 11th hour. But there are times that whenever we try to make the plate earlier before the deadline, we end up revising our plans because sometimes we are not satisfied with our designs or our instructor noticed some errors on our designs. Having overnights is exhausting but it is fun especially when you are with your classmates. Lots of foods and coffee or energy drinks are always present in our overnights because it can help us prolong our drowsiness. If we feel that we need to double our time the longest time we can sleep can sometimes be only be an hour or two.

DESIGNING HAS NEVER BEEN EASY

When we design, we were given the specific type of structure we will be designing. We were given the lot, specific requirements and what image the building has to project. It is not just simply putting the spaces everywhere but we also have to consider a lot of aspects. The site itself, slope of the land, air patterns, solar patterns, and many more aspects. So it's not right that they see our drawings as ordinary set of plans. Every plan that we made is unique and lots of efforts were made to produce the plans. So you can't simply ask us to design to you for free right?

Architecture is a wide field. What I shared was just a bit of what we do in the field of architecture.
